Container rinsing made easy

FAQs

Collection bags make it easier to collect and transport containers. Pick up your bags free of charge at your local ag retailer across Canada.

Caps and booklets are made from different types of plastic and cause issues during recycling. Removing them ensures the jug can be recycled properly.

Rinsing ensures we can recycle the plastic.

The dye in seed treatment can contaminate other plastics. Putting these containers in a separate bag keeps the rest of the batch clean, so we can recycle as much as possible!

There is no fee to drop off empty, rinsed containers at a Cleanfarms collection site.

Find your nearest collection site using our interactive map.

After you drop them off, containers are recycled into new products like agricultural fence posts, composite lumber, pallets, and drainage tiles.

The container recycling program is our longest running program. With the support of all our partners, farmers have been recycling ag containers since 1989!
